Tré Watkins, Ph.D., serves as the director of talent development at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU), where he co-leads university-wide efforts to integrate career readiness into the student experience. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, an M.A. in sociology from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D. in education for social justice from the University of San Diego. His research focuses on the sociology of higher education, particularly on Black student experiences, career readiness, and how students and faculty perceive and engage with career development in academic settings. He teaches research methods, mainly qualitative approaches, in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego and is a lecturer in the sociology department at PLNU. He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and serves as the alumni adviser for the Lambda Iota Chapter. Committed to community, teaching, and scholarship, he is passionate about making a meaningful impact through learning and mentorship.
